When it comes to New York and scarves, everyone in New York wears a scarf. I saw lots of ladies dawning scarves and an equal number of men but most surprising were the construction workers. Even the construction workers wore scarves! That is what you would expect from the best city in the world!
During my stay in NYC, I stayed at the Millennium Hilton, which was amazing. Compared to other NYC hotels, this was my favorite as the room was huge and it was such a great location (right next to C21). It was truly surreal to see where the twin towers has been and my hotel room overlooked Ground Zero. I wandered through the Financial District and to Wall Street to check out the Hermes store (pronounced "ermes" of course). I am always in awe when I walk into Hermes. All the beautiful clothes and jewellery make me feel as though I am dreaming and walking around my perfect closet. What stood out the most was the equestrian inspired fashion. I loved the equestrian riding clothing and fashion because it represented a simpler time and make my imagination run wild, which I guess is what Hermes intends to do. I lost all sense of time and just melted while scanning the outfits. There were tons of taupes and tans and buckle and clasps. It was a riders dream.
After finally leaving the store, I couldn’t help but stop at the window, to see the display. The window display was elegant and perfect. It was chic, yet timeless. The mannequin was dressed in a pearl white sweater under a huge wool sweater that almost went past the knees. It was held together with a brown tan leather belt with equestrian style belt buckles. The look was finished with a dark pair of trousers and most beautiful of all, a horn necklace. The necklace was so natural yet polished. It was such a simple look but it look very thoughtful and comfortable.
I have a beautiful horn necklace from Joie De Vivre that I knew would go perfect with my version. I found a huge knot sweater while shopping in SOHO and a belt while wandering through the cobblestone streets of the financial district. I was able to put together an extremely similar outfit and I LOVE it. More pictures to come!
Xoxo
