What is a Palestinian Scarf?
A Palestinian Scarf is scarf worn in the head by men in Arab and Kurdish nations. This piece of cloth is made of cotton which is designed to protect and keep the eyes out from the sun. It also keeps the head out from the sun and does not give a warmer temperature in the body. Palestinian scarves have been worn for many centuries already and are believed to have originated in Mesopotamia. They are generally known to have checkered patterns. This distinct pattern was being represented for the fishing nets that were common in the past years.
We all know that scarves are worn for various functional purposes. But most Palestinian scarves are worn mainly to respect tradition. There are some modern versions of it and were made with combination of cotton and wool. And because of this, the scarf dries off faster and can better absorb the sweat away from the skin. You can see people from Somalia, Jordan, Kuwait, and other Persian Gulf nations wear this head dress.

How to Wear a Palestinian Scarf
A Palestinian scarf has been a part of the lives of the people in Middle East. It is called kuffiyeh in Arabic. This Palestinian scarf is usually associated with leader Yasser Arafat, who can only be occasionally seen not wearing it.
And today, this scarf has found its place in mainstream fashion. Scarf companies are creating new twists, elements and designs on the scarf in non-traditional colors such as brown and purple. If you like to choose this scarf as an accessory to match with your wardrobe, then it is important for you to know how to wear it. Here’s how:
1. If you have a long hair, tie it all up so that it will not be mixed up with the scarf’s when tying.
2. Fold the scarf into half diagonally.
3. Hold the two side points and stretch it out fully. The center point must be pointing to the ground.
4. Put the scarf on your chest. Then bring the ends or two side points to the back of the neck and tie.
5. Straighten the scarf in your front so that it is properly hanging in the middle of the chest. But do not make it too straight like a handkerchief. Just fix the unnecessary crumples and retain the layers and wrinkles.

The Best of Pashmina
The term pashmina is a Persian word for “pashm” which means wool. And from the name itself, it can be implied that pashmina shawls and scarves are made of fine cashmere wools from a special breed of pashmina goat. And the Kashmir of India has been compared with the pashmina all over the world.
Handmade and woven pashmina scarves are made in high quality with the finest cashmere wool. And the shawls are very great work that gives a sweet look at those weft threads interlocking with different colors wrapped incredibly. The combination of the color schemes is specifically adorable. There are some shawls which have architectural and mythological designs engraved together with landscape designs. And what makes this pashmina shawls different from other ordinary woolen shawls are they are soft, smooth and silky.
And if you are one of those people who buy and own intricately woven Kashmir pashmina, you are considered to be prestigious and sophisticated as a piece of it costs $10,000 at famous boutiques in US and UK.

Typically, a sarong is worn around the waist. You can alter its length according to preference by folding it. But generally, they are long – usually ankle length, mid-thigh length or knee length. There are also different varieties of fabrics and color combinations that can make them look real attractive and lively. You can either wear it with short shorts, capris, bikinis or a short dress.
· Body wrap beach scarf
Aside from the typical way of wearing a sarong, you can also wear it as a single wear around the body. This can be worn by tying it around one shoulder, halter or even an off-shoulder. Beach scarves and sarongs are longer and wider. And you can make different styles on it. All you just need to know are the stylish ways to tie it.

The Queen of All Textiles
Silk Scarf is the queen of all textiles.
All over time, silk scarf has been proved and tested and will continue to be a staple in the next future time. This type of scarf never goes out of style.
Being a liquid material, scarves made of silk follows the form of the body they get in touch with. Even when worn separately or with heavy winter coat, silk scarf matches with it in the most adorable manner.
This material is considered long and is one of the strongest materials. However, it gets weak when it gets wet. The layer outside the silk is a shielding layer. So, it is easier to keep it clean. And these vogue scarves can stand and last for years when it is properly cared for.
It is also an excellent and very fine insulator. It is a good insulator for it absorbs heat from your body. And It absorbs moisture very well. It sips the moisture away from the body especially during warmer days to keep your body cool. And in the winter, it gives you the opposite effect.

If you have come by Hermes store in New York City located at 691 Madison Avenue lately, you are most likely to have noticed some changes. First, they have moved their jewelries closer to their multi-level boutique’s entrance. And just this week, they celebrated the opening of their expanded their floor area which is dedicated entirely for emblematic silk Carre and accessory products.
This 2,100 square foot floor area features a very broad assortment of Hermes accessories, ranging from the latest silk scarf designs and limited edition products to classic Herms belts, enamel bracelets, gloves and fragrances. And if the most recent news about Hermes’ battle with LVMH has shown us anything, it is that Hermes loves keeping their things within the family so it suits that the new space was designed by RDAI, a Parisian architectural agency founded by Ruena Dumas, a family member of Hermes.
The most fun part of this newly revamped space, however, is that it has a customization and personalization service called Custom Silk Corner, which costs $15 per letter.

Scarf to Save your Day
If you have a very short hair at this very moment whether it be crop or a mullet, you may be stuck with how to make your look fresh and unique everyday with just one hairstyle. I feel you, my dear. The shorter the hair is, the lesser is the hair styling choices but more on how to prevent hair damage. You have weapon, not products. My armory contains thick, sticky wax, my two ears, and sometimes on my frantic days – my daisy-shaped hair clip.
There are only few options to those short-haired women who want to grow a long hair. You can wear a hat. But this does not seem fit most especially if you are heading indoors. And you also have to take it off when you are in a dinner table as a sign of etiquette. You can also wear hair extensions if you really are desperate and in a rush to have a long hair in a particular day. But a prettily printed silk scarf can save your day. A beautiful silk scarf tied around your head like Audrey Hepburn will cover up your funny hairdo. And an instant taste of sophistication is in you. I collected lots of scarves. And I must say, the more ridiculous the print, the better!

Stand Out in Three Ways
We all know that scarf is a very versatile accessory. And ever since that it became popular, especially to Hollywood celebrities, it became a staple and it is like everyone owns a scarf. But a numerous people only barely know three of the ways on how to wear a scarf. Yes, maybe sure thing all of us knows how to take two ends and loop them through. But, the essence of doing fashion is being neglected. That thing is old. We do not want to use an outdated style and is being used by everybody else. We want to stand out and be fashion. The fashion is you because it starts with you. Start making the difference by using these three used-but not abused ways on how to wear a scarf.
· Tucked in
Take a scarf (size does not matter). Wrap it around your neck as many times as you want. Then tuck the loose ends underneath to keep it neat. This is great to use with a stylish jacket or blazer.
· Boho chic
Stretch the fabric on your front then to your back. Then bring the loose ends again to your front. Let the ends hang nicely in your front. This style looks best with patterned scarves.
· Scarf and bag combination
Be different. Instead of tying the scarf on your body, tie it on your bag and add up a spice on it. Tie your best scarf on a boring bag and it will not be bad anymore. Just do the simple knot and you are good to go.

Summer Scarves for Men
Gone are those days when men worry about how they wear their summer scarves, those days when they just hide and tuck their scarves on their jackets and just only show them on their button up shirts. But generation has evolved. Men became trendy and confident as they think this is how they can magnet women. Men of today became metro sexual and are now wrapping. Twisting, knotting and looping a scarf which adds up charm and sex appeal to their persona.
Here are few great tying techniques that will allow you to showcase the creativity you have been hiding.
· Beach kerchief – whenever you are heading out to a beach or a boat, be a cowboy and wear a summer scarf around your neck. Here’s how:
1. Fold the scarf diagonally to make a triangle.
2. Get the two other corners and tie it at the back of your neck. Let the scarf dip low in your front.
· Flip it, baby – just like the other accessories; you should look cool and composed. After wearing your shirt, take a light, long scarf and place it around the neck. Let one end hang longer than the other. And that’s it. You are ready to go!
· Lover in Paris – Parisian knotted scarf is worn by folding it in half and holding it in both hands. If your scarf is fringed, just make sure that the fringed ends are together when you hold it. Place the middle of the scarf around the front of your neck. Then bring the loose ends back to the front and pull together from the loop. Pop your collar and go tight or loose with the scarf.
· Headband or hat band – Summer scarves are technically light and it can be worn around the head like bandana or simply a headband. They can also add up jazz to your hat like fedora or straw hat. For a head, a cotton scarf works great; for a hat, a silk or lines is good to go. Folding a scarf is a headband and a hat band is just the same and similar to beach kerchief. Just fold the scarf diagonally to make a triangle. Take the middle point and fold it until you reach the other end. Then wrap it around your head or hat and tie the ends.

5 Easy Steps to Wear a Sexy Halter Top Scarf
Hello everyone!
I would like to share one of my newest discoveries. I always kept wondering how I could use these magnificent scarves into other ways that I can showcase their brilliant colors and prints. I hear some people that they collect lots of silk scarves but only wear a few of them and just leave the rest kept on their closet. Well, if you are one of those people, I have some suggestions for you.
First of all, it is very easy to turn a wonderful scarf into a sexy halter top. All you need is a ribbon, a scarf clip or brooch and a large square silk scarf. And do the following:
Step 1: Get the scarf and fold it in half diagonally to make a triangle.
Step 2: Take the middle pointed edge and pull that through the scarf clip. If you use a brooch, fold that corner leaving a space so that the ribbon can thread through.
Step 3: take the ribbon and fold the clip over the ribbon. If you are using a brooch put the ribbon on the hole you created with the brooch.
Step 4: Tie the ribbon around your neck.
Step 5: Tie the two other ends of your scarf at your back.
And there it is! You are good to go! Go sexy and confident!

The Power of Scarves
English architecture and art critic Sir Sacheverell Sitwell in 1947 said, "A scarf is, admittedly, not a tapestry, not a dress; it is a mere square of silk or some other material intended to be worn around the head. But it can be treated as a work of art. It can be collected like a rare book or print.”
And in here starts the explaining of the scarf’s appeal. As some apparent fashion trends come and go, the scarf is one designer item that will always have a grip of its own. And these things come to your mind, Hermes, Pucci and other luxury silk scarves embedded with elaborately ornamented silk-screened patterns.
A luxurious scarf can be an outfit and mood enhancer as it wraps your head, drapes on your shoulder or accentuates your bag. Fashion icons such as Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren show to us cool and casual but very elegant scarves. Moreover, today’s icons such as Emma Watson, Sienna Miller and Alexa Chun can only be seldom caught without a nice vintage or contemporary scarf worn with brilliant twists and turns. So it is not surprising that scarves are being sold and auctioned at very high prices.
Real scarf collectors discovered that is not only the French and the Italian who are good at making exquisite scarves. They are also interested with the designs of the British labels such as the Liberty, Jaqmar and Ascher; also the American heritage brands such as Brooke Cadwallader and Echo. All of these equipped highly popular artists to create a respectable image for their scarves. A scarf which is highly known globally is also sometimes referred to as carre, foulard, sciarpa and fichu.
Scarf experts always look for scarves that are highly-artistic and iconic. Just like what happened on Hermes, when they first had a printed scarf called Le Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches, created by Robert Dumas in 1937 was then sought after it became available in the market; also the Gucci’s vibrant flora created by great artist Vittorio Accornero in 1966.
What keeps the market of scarves successful are the reputation and interpretation of vintage, contemporary, limited edition and designer scarves. Branding, artistic prowess, heritage and symbolism and the choice of high-class fabrics contribute to the popularity of the scarf design.

Top 3 Scarf Styles

A magnificent, adorable, multi-functional and versatile scarf can be worn in hundreds of ways. But I bet most of us only know at least one or two and at most 10 ways to wear it. A scarf is a staple in fashion and can be worn together with any kind of outfits whatever the season is. From a thin and light scarf to a knitted thick scarf, you can always find what you have been looking for. Below are the top 3 styles of tying a scarf.
1. European loop – This scarf style is one of the most popular scarf styles. It is very easy to do and looks great on any clothes. It is best to use this style with a light- medium sized scarf. Here’s how to do it.
· First, take a long scarf and fold it in a half crosswise.
· Drape the scarf on your neck, the two ends and the loop in front of you.
· Get the loose ends and slide it on the loop created by the fold.
· Pull the ends up to your desired tightness.
2. Ascot knot – This style is very common and I think you have already used this without you knowing that this is an ascot knot. This tie is very similar to how men wear their tie. Here’s how to do it:
· Get a scarf and let it hang around your neck.
· Let the left end hang over the right end
· Then bring the left at the back of the right end.
· Pull it up through the neck loop and bring down to let it hang.
· If you want a tighter knot, loop the left end around the right end twice.
3. Basic – As obvious as its name, this style is very basic and common, yet still stylish. This is technically not a knot, as what you need to do is just tuck, toss here and there. Here’s how to do it:
· Get a scarf and let it hang around your neck, the ends hanging evenly.
· Get the right end and pull it over the right end.
· Then get the right end through the neck loop and throw it over the left shoulder.

Everything About Scarves!
A scarf is brilliant piece of clothing worn around the neck, head, or waist to keep warm or cool. It is also used to cover the head and neck for religious purposes. There are so many kinds of scarves and they vary in sizes, shapes, colors, fabric and design. Historically, it is believed that it is the Romans first used scarves to wipe their faces and neck during the summer. Scarves are called sudarium in Latin which means sweat cloth. Originally, it was the men who wore scarves. But now, scarves are also commonly worn by women. Since the 19th century, scarves have become a staple as a fashion statement for both men and women.
Scarf knitting has also become a source of trade in some countries. Scarves, which are knitted by the hand, are truly appreciated and are a popular gift item. Some of the high quality fashion designer brands of printed scarves are Hermes, Dior, Chanel and Prada. Scarves are sometimes also worn with school uniforms and some athletes or sports lovers, to identify their teams. There are many kinds of scarves; there are plain and printed scarves and there are hand-knitted. Some scarves are also made of cotton, polyester, rayon, wool and satin. Cashmere and pashmina silk scarves are commonly worn at special and formal events. Scarves are typically used for their functional uses including climatic conditions and the exposure of the environment. Scarves are very essential during winter as they are used to keep people warm. During the warm seasons, people wear head scarves and bandanas to protect their heads from the scorching heat of the sun. If one’s hair becomes dry from sun exposure, a head scarf really helps you avoid getting spit ends and dry, frizzy hair. Scarves can also be worn as a skirt or around a skirt. They can also be worn on the waist as a belt to your jeans or pareo. A very small scarf can be worn to tie your hair. You can use it as an accent to your ponytail. These days scarves are prominent to men and women to signify a high taste of style and fashion.
